ASC is a 32Kbps data broadcasting media untilizing subcarriers in terrestrial Tv sound signal. A scheme to save energy of receivers by redefining the Mode Contorol word is described. This allows recievers to access only relevant information resulting in considerable power saving while keeping privilege reception such as emergency messaging.
