21-8 Knowledge-Based Scene-Adaptive Object Extraction Algorithm

Abstract

In order to improve coding effeciency of the object-based video encoding, we propose an algrithm of scene-adptive object extraction. Referring to a statistically constructed knowledge-base, the algorithm selects the most economic object-extraction strategy, based on the observed scenic features, from several different methods. Experiments showed the validity of the proposed method.
