This report describes a development of LSB Filter and Delay Corrector for Digital/Abalog TV Simulcast. Recently, terrestrial digital TV broadcast have started in Europe and USA and so on. During analog TV broadcast is perfactly shifted to digital TV, TV broadcast simulcast. Therefore, we must consider that each transmitter specification is not influenced among analog/digital channel, especially when digital channel next to analog channel. So, the development has been accomplished to correspond to analog/digital TV simulcast.

In this paper, simplified IFFT method is proposed for SFN relay station coupling canceller system. For digital broadcasting system such as ISDB-T system, pilot carriers are transmitted together with data carriers, so that the channel transfer function is estimated both in frequency and in time. Then the channel estimation over all carriers is performed by interpolation of the channnel transfer function of pilot carriers. In a SFN relay station, the estimated channel information of all carriers is transformed into time domain using IFFT in order to cancel the coupling in real time. proposed simple IFFT reduces the hardware complexity and processing time, while guaranteeing the system performance.

Thisis now under eager discussion in the USA for post-production(though 24P instead of 30P is currently a main target) and called "segmented Frame". In this paper, desirable formats are discussed for the future TV systems, from these view points.

In this paper, the authors propose an objective picture quality measurement method in the absence of reference pictures. The proposed method assumes TV transmission chains - especially tandem connection of codecs, and enables an automatic objective measurement of the picture quality. In the proposed method, invisible markers are embedded inti original pictures by use of spread spectrum data-hiding method and the picture quality is estimated by using the detectioni rate of the maekers. Computer simulation experiments show that the proposed method provides highly accurate estimation of RSNR while retaining the degradation by inbisible markers negligible.

A method for compensation of rain attenuation in necessary in more reliable next-generation broadcasting satellite systems. A study of transponder output power ti compensate rain attenuation is very important to achieve high reliability. First, we estimated the maximum one-minute rain rate in a 10-minute-raifall that can be easily surveyed in Japan. We calculated the additional transponder output power needed by a next-generation broadcasting satellite to compensate for rai attenuation. The rain-event coverage rate od this system was then calculated by using the AMeDAS 10-minute-rainfall data for 1300 throughout Japan.
