Abstract
We are studying a stereo camera system, which can control pan, tilt and zoom, for tracking an object automatically. In this study, a prototype equipment was used to perform an accuracy test considering the application of this system to soccer ball path-display during a live broadcast of a soccer match. As a result of analyzing error during three-dimensional measurement, the main factor was found to be quantization error. Moreover, it was verified that target accuracy could be obtained when using this system in detecting a soccer ball.
