This paper describes an image restoration algorithm for faxed documents using dynamic thresholding method. Our proposed method consists of the gaussian filter and dynamic thoresholding technique. They give an appropriate restoration criterion automatically without judging additive or subtractive noise. Experiments show that our proposed method is effective for faxed document restoration.
