Abstract
A nonpixelized electrically-addressable spatial light phase-only modulator is described. The device consists of a liquid crystal display (LCD), an optically-addressed parallel-aligned nematic-liquid-crystal spatial light modulator (PAL-SLM), one of which substrates is a fiber optic plate (FOP), a laser diode and a collimating lens for it. Sufficient phase modulation capability and high rate of light utilization efficiency ware confirmed.
