Abstract
This paper describes an on-board large-scale phased array antenna for broadcasting satellite that compensates for rain-fall attenuation by increasing only the e.i.r.p. of rain-fall areas. The radiation pattern of the antenna is varied according to the distribution of the rainfall. The antenna requirements and configurations are shown. The design method of the array-fed large-scale reflector antenna is presented.
