15-8 Texture analysis using pattern spectrum and cluster analysis

Abstract

A novel texture analysis method is proposed. This method is applicable to the description of texture that is a mixture of two or more distinctive sets of elementary shapes. This method classifies elementary shapes into hierarchical clusters based on the pattern spectrum, and detects typical elementary shapes of each cluster.
