Abstract

We developed a fabrication process of a large-size flexible display device containing monostable ferroelectric liquid crystal(FLC) with aligned polymer walls and networks. Finely patterned color filters and ITO electrodes were formed on a plastic substrate by transfer method. An FLC/monomer solution film was then coated on the plastic substrate by flexographic printing technique. After lamination with another substrate was performed, the polymer structures were formed by the FLC by two-step UV irradiation. A fabricated A4-sized device with color pixels presented images even when the device was bent.
