14-1 Gas pressure dependence of exited Xe atom distribution in a high-resolution PDP cell

Abstract

We investigate the dependence of exited Xe(1_<s5>) atoms density on the gas pressure in a high-resolution PDP cell. The Xe(1_<s5>) atoms become larger and their decay become faster on a higher gas pressure. As the result, the VUV emission of the 173nm band from Xe_2^* dimers is increased.
