18-5 Improvement of the Resolution for Characters on Autostereoscopic Image Display Devices

Abstract

In recent years, autostereoscopic displays have been intensively studied. The 3-D displays with many parallax rays perform favorable 3-D characteristics. However, the resolution is restricted by a pitch of the lenticular plate. We propose the method of improving the resolution of 2-D characters on autostereoscopic image displays. By using the cross-talk of parallax rays, the interpolated 2-D images are obtained.
