1-4 H.264/AVC Realtime Encoding/Transmission System

Abstract

We developed a H.264/AVC based real-time encoding/transmission system. Since encoding of H.264/AVC requires a large amount of calculation power, the total calculation cost for realtime audio/video bi-directional communication has to be minimized while maintaining video quality. In this paper, we propose a system which achieves H.264/AVC live encoding/decoding of 30fps for 720x480 pixels with HE-AAC audio.
