Abstract

We developed an H.264/AVC real-time software. H.264/AVC contains many effective coding modes, which require a large amount of calculation time. Our coding algorithm employs mode reduction, optimized fractional-pel plane calculation and parallel encoding. As a result, encoding speed of our software has achieved up to 30fps for 720x480 pixels.
