19-3 Datacasting service application of terrestrial digital 1 segment broadcasting

Abstract

Digital terrestrial television broadcast service for mobile reception ("1 segment broadcasting") in Japan, to be expected to launch in early 2006, will enable "ubiquitous" TV viewing for viewers. Furthermore, it is expected that new kind of high interactive TV services will be introduced via 1 segment data broadcasting. This paper describes an overview of prototype CM-synchronized data broadcasting contents and results of technical verification and open experiments using these contents.
