5-2 A Development of the Terrestrial Digital TV Receiver with H.264 decoder Switching 12 Segments or 1 Segment of ISDB-T : On-board Terrestrial Digital TV Receiver Providing Seamless Services

Abstract

For digital terrestrial broadcasting, we developed the prototype of on-board terrestrial digital TV receiver that can receive 12 segments and 1 segment simultaneously, and can switch each other according to C/N ratio automatically. While moving by vehicle, the receiver can provide seamless service without sudden freeze frame of video. We measured BER of 1 segment and 12 segments using this receiver on a vehicle. Test result shows that the service area will be extended compared with a receiver that can receive 12 segments only.
