8-2 Dynamic Range Compression Technique for Mobile Phone

Abstract

By controlling the exposure value and the tone characteristic adaptively, the trade-off between the dynamic range and contrast is eliminated. In this system, the optimal exposure value and tone characteristic are selected for every input image to improve image quality. Since the proposed technique does not need complicated operation, it enables real-time processing with F/W.
