8-5 A Note on Super-resolution Demosaicking with Total-Variation Regularization

Abstract

Previously we have presented the sharpening-demosaicking method with the total-variation (TV) based super-resolution. The TV-based super-resolution effectively suppresses ringing artifacts around salient edges, but it excessively flattens original signal variations in texture regions. This paper presents a scheme that controls the TV-based super-resolution adaptively according to the magnitude of color edges around a pixel to be processed.
