At baseband transmission of multiplexed MPEG-2 TS, null packets in each MPEG-2 TS are simply summed up. We developed a method to generate extra timeslot using null packets in multiplexed transport streams. The effectiveness of the method was shown in the transmission of digital terrestrial and satellite broadcast transport streams.
