9-8 A Study of MPEG2 transcoding using Quantizer matrix modification

Abstract

A transcoding method using quantizer matrix modification is proposed. The element value of high frequency part in quantizer matrix are doubled for this transcoding. Experimental results show that the proposed method improve 0.5-1.0 dB in PSNR comparing with the conventional method.
