Abstract
In this paper, a CMOS image sensor for fluorescence lifetime detection is presented. The fluorescence lifetime is a powerful tool to analyze molecule's structures, dynamics, and environments. The CMOS image sensor is designed and implemented in 0.18μm CMOS image sensor technology. The sensor consists of 256(H)×256(V) pixels, a vertical and a horizontal scanner, noise canceling column readout amplifiers, output buffers, and a delay circuit for pixel control pulses. The experimental results show that the proposed sensor can measure the lifetime in a nanosecond range.
