7-6 JSVC Pre-Filter using Contrast Sensitivity Function

Abstract

By applying a low-pass filter to an original video signal before coding, we can often achieve a high coding efficiency. However, even if this pre-filter is directly applied to JSVC, it can't remove an inter-layer redundancy. In this paper, we have proposed the new pre-filter design to apply usual low-pass filter and inter-layer redundancy removal filter to macroblock adaptively. As a result, we can achieve 11.9% bit reduction.
