22-7 Motion Perception of Scrolled Characters on Raster-scan Displays

Abstract

Shear perception, when observing a horizontally scrolled vertical bar on a raster-scan display, was investigated by subjective tests with eye fixation and non-fixation conditions. The observed shear angle agrees well with our estimation. The experimental result suggests that the locus of attention moves smoothly in the eye fixation condition as well.
