4-5 Traffic Sign Recognition Using Wide Angle Camera Cooperated with Narrow Angle Camera

Abstract

This paper proposes a novel system for traffic sign recognition. The detection and the classification stages are processed in captured images by wide and narrow angle cameras separately. The edge information and ellipse fitting method are used for detecting the candidates of traffic signs in wide angle camera. The high resolution images of candidate are captured using narrow angle camera. The template matching method is used for classification.
