7-12 A study on the changes of best mode in the field of noncausal prediction method

Abstract

Orthogonal transformation coding method has been used as a popular technology in video compression field. And almost of them have sanctioned the efficiency of the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) in particular. On the other hand, other transforms like Discrete Sine Transform (DST) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) have been paid more attention. This paper addressed the efficiency diversification of each kind of transform when the quantization step or input image is changed.
