9-2 Cancer/Noncancer Discrimination for Biopsy Images Using a Sparse Representation Classifier

Abstract

The SVM, which is used as a powerful tool for cancer/noncancer discrimination for biopsy images, has difficulty in the parameter tuning. To avoid this problem, we propose a discrimination method using a parameter-free sparse representation classifier. Experimental results show that the performance of the proposed method is comparable to that of SVM.
