13-2 Color Image Coding Based on Integration of Block-Adaptive Intra- and Inter-Color Prediction

Abstract

We previously proposed a lossy coding scheme based on recursive-type intra prediction and discrete sine transform (DST) for monochrome still images. In this paper, we extend the scheme to RGB 4:4:4 format color images. In order to exploit intra- and inter-color correlations, the already encoded color signals are simultaneously used in the prediction process.
