Abstract
A standardization work of High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) version 1 has been finished and its extensions to a non-4:2:0 chroma format is currently studied. In this paper, we propose a coding method based on a blockwise un-correlation of chroma space for intra/inter residual signals. A transformation matrix for the color-space un-correlation is derived from the coded sample by the simplified singular-value-decomposition (SVD). It is confirmed that a bitrate reduction is 23.4% for RGB 4:4:4 materials and a bitrate reduction is 4.5% for YUV 4:4:4 materials.
