This research uses image materials independently created in France and Japan to carry out a
viewing experiment where we evaluated and analyzed the trends and differences in subjects from each
country's sensory reaction to the images. In particular, citing text from literary works, cutting the metaphorical
expressions from each scene into parts for comprehension and using this as a hint for the interpretation of
image metaphors. Our analysis showed that the vast majority of subjects were able to correctly interpret
metaphorical expressions in the image metaphors and that each individual expressed clear thoughts and ideas.
