The laser display can be a very high quality one because of its excellent properties such as a wide color gamut and low power consumption. It is essential, however, to reduce the speckle related to the essence of lasers. We describe the principle and the basic experimental results of a method to reduce speckle in laser displays with a moving screen system. The relationship among the screen gain, radius of screen rotation, linear velocity and speckle was quantitatively evaluated and it reduced speckle on laser projection displays.
