The Measurement and a Countermeasure of the Influence of the Terrestrial Magnetism upon the Misregistration of Three Tube Camera

Abstract

Developing a pattern projector mounted onto a camera and a special pick-up-tube with the measuring pattern on the face plate makes it possible to measure misregistration, due to terrestrial magnetism.
Investigating the picture rotational error causes and simulating the terrestrial magnetism distribution in the pick-up-tube with the finite element method, an effective shielding method was found which reduces the influence to a value one fifth less than when using the conventional method.
