Abstract
This paper introduces an improved coding method employing a two-dimensional color predictor in the place of pixel reference mechanisms of the conventional Structure Runlength Coding (SRC). Conventional SRC is a data compression coding scheme for digital images, which gives completely reversible codes for any given image, and is especially effective for multi-colored CG images. However, study of SRC revealed redundancy in its code generation method. Some experimental results comparing the improved with the conventional SRC are given.
