Abstract
Narrow MUSE is developed for terrestrial broadcasting of the 1125 line/60Hz Hi-Vision signal.
This system is designed for transmitting below the 6 MHz RF bandwidth to bring the Hi-Vision signal in line with the terrestrial ATV (advanced television) system adopted by the FCC of the US. System development required examination of band compression principles, and involved computer simulation and production of experimental hardware. The resulting Narrow MUSE format posseses sufficient ATV system capabilities.
This report discusses base-band processing for the Narrow MUSE system.
