A High-speed Image Recording System for Consumer Use

Abstract

A High-speed image recording system with an effective slow-motion play back function has been developed. Although high-speed recording devices have been in use professionally, there have been no such products for consumer use. Our system can capture images at quadruple the speed of a normal consumer VCR. Images taken with our camera are quarter the size of ones taken with a standard camera. The camera connects four high speed captured pictures to form one standard picture and output it in a form that is usable by any normal consumer VCR. We used a normal consumer digital VCR to play back the high-speed images.
