Report on 1997 SID International Symposium : (9) Electroluminensence Displays and Phosphors

Abstract

Papers in a field of electroluminescence and phosphors, which were reported at 1997 SID International Symposium, were summarized. 12 papers treated inorganic EL displays. 5 papers at Organic Electroluminescence session and 6 papers for phosphors were also reported. A 5 in QVGA blue-color organic EL panels, which enable to display video-rate picture with 256 gray scale, was reported as a late-news paper, and attracted many reserchers attention as 「Organic EL-TV」. Multi-and color EL displays using color by white approach was discussed. Field-sequential color AMEL display for HMD applications was presented.
