Light-scattering (LS) textures were induced into long pitch N^* π-twisted planer textures by applying burst electric fields. Elecrto-optical characteristics and the forming-, holding- and eliminating-mechanism of the textures were studied, experimentally. The texture was composed of very many micronized planar textures with three kinds of twist angles, π-twisted and π±π-twisted textures. The LS texture has a fairly rapid responsibility and lower voltage driveability. It seems that delicate fluctuation of aligning property of two aligning layers and differences among the elastical distortion energies of each three twisted textures take part in the forming- and holding-mechanisms of the LS textures.
