Abstract

For high speed search system of the video cassette reorder, the precision tape speed control, tape tension control and digital data detection are required. We have studied high speed tape transport mechanism, using directly driven take-up and supply reels and controlling both reels by using the decoupling control of tape speed and tape tension. And we have developed a new method for decuopling control of tape tension in witch tape running resistance by tape guide is taken into consideration. Furthermore, in the control of phase locked loop center frequency offset, we have employed a new method that controls reproducing signal frequency deviation by correlation of tape search speed and head azimuth angle, and relative tape-head speed. As a result the system obtained the high performance of data detection in accordance with the digital VCR standard.
