Abstract
The recent trend on digital printing technology is reported, mainly by reviewing the two major conferences in 1997 on digital printing technologies ; one is IS&T's NIP 13 : International Conference on Digital Printing Technologies and another is Japan Hardcopy '97. Two new trends have been found ; the first one is "Digital Paper Technology", and another is "Digital Press Printing". Digital Paper Technology is especially expected to be a new giant frontier both for researchers on printing technology and display technology.
