Abstract
Magnetic storage technology will be attained to an areal density of 100 Gbpsi in around 2010. To realize such an extremely high density magnetic storage technology, schemes for that are being searched. As one of the candidates, perpendicularly magnetizing method is reassessed. In this paper, the problems which should be solved for practical use of perpendicular magnetic storage and several solutions for them are described. Furthermore, a concept for the future ultra high density magnetic storage will be proposed.
