Hyper-D signal processing for Single Chip CCD Color Camera

Abstract

We developed a wide dynamic range imaging & signal processing technology. Using Hyper-D-CCD and digital signal processing, long-exposure signal and short-exposure signal are both readout from CCD in 1TV-field period, composed aduptively and corrected tone reproduction. This method expands dynamic range remarkably. In case of 16ms long exposure and 1ms short exposure, we acheived dynamic range 16 times as wide as conventional imaging system.
