Abstract
The Sixth IS&T/SID Color Imaging Conference : Color Science, System, and Applications was held from Nov.17 to 20/1998 at Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. Tutorial sessions were held on the first day ; 17^<th> and was technical sessions were held on the following days ; 18^<th> to 20^<th>. The number of papers on "Device Characterization" decreased while presentations on "Color Appearance Model" and "Gamut Mapping" increased, which is essential for connecting color imaging devices as a system. As for a display device, some papers on LCD characterization appeared this year. New trends found in this year were ; 1)Multi-spectral analysis for spectrum recovery, and 2)True color reproduction for recovering real world in computer graphics.
