Abstract

For the picture quality evaluation of Wavelet coding, we investigate the performanceestimation of picture quality evaluation model of monochrome still picture, which is already proposed for block-based picture coding. This evaluation model consists of the non-linear combination model whose components are 5 kinds of distortion factors and 11kinds of texture features. This model achieves the good estimation of the subjective picture quality in which the correlation coefficient between MOS and evaluated value are 0.97. Moreover, in case of the data which combined the data of JPEG coding and Wavelet coding, the correlation slightly decrease as 0.94.
