Abstract
All most optical disk are adopted a mark-edge recording for increasing a data capacity. Interchangeability between drives and media is important because an optical disk is changeable media. This paper focuses on a jitter characteristic, which is important to estimate the interchangeability. The deviation factors of a jitter are analyzed, an analysis equation of a jitter is deduced regarding to a probability of generating a mark and space. In addition, the way how to measure the remained edge-shift in these factors is reported.
