Abstract
Transition of magnetization direction from in-plane to perpendicular has been investigated for a GdFeCo readout layer of Center Aperture Detection(CAD). A transition for a GdFeCo readout layer is calculated as the layer has a stripe magnetic domain structure. The calculation showed that the transition occurs more repidly as the thickness of the readout layer becomes thinner. Another transition for a GdFeCo readout layer, which is exchange-coupled with a GdFe mask layer having in-plane magnetization, is calculated using the noncontinuous model. The calculation showed also that the thinner readout layer makes the transition more repidly.
