Abstract
We measured the lightness and contrast of two types of reflective color TFT-LCDs under real using conditions. Three subjects adjusted the inclination angle of the LCDs to obtain the most legible condition. At these settings the lightness and contrast of the LCDs were measured from the viewing direction which was selected by the subjects. We also measured the LCDs in a dark room using collimated beam source at various incident angles. These results indicate the discrepancy between the measurements in real using conditions and in a laboratory condition.
