Abstract
Shallow type, 46cm 100° CDT with high resolution up to 2M pixels is developed. The neck size is reduced to 24.3mm to avoid increase of the deflection power caused by enlarged deflection angle. To keep the beam spot diameter identical to that of large neck CDT, NEXT (Narrow elliptical aperture technology with EXTended lens) electron gun, having auxiliary electrode at main lens with intermediate voltage applied through built in resistor, is developed. Effective lens diameter is 8.1 mm, almost identical to that of the large neck tubes.
