Abstract

The Yokohama Broadcast Library was opened in the Yokohama Media and Communications Center in October 2000. In the Library, people can watch a range of programs that have already been broadcast, using TAO's experimental viewing system. All programs are digitized and distributed to viewing booths from a video server and DVD cart machine. Remote viewing booths have been set up in Osaka, allowing people in Osaka to watch programs that are in Yokohama through TAO's gigabit network in realtime. This paper reports on the specifications, configuration and operation of the system.
