Abstract
Fujifilm WV film Wide View A(WV film), which has a hybrid-alignment structure of negative birefringence, is compared with a uniaxial negative-birefringence film with an oblique optic axis, by considering the ellipticity of polarized light and index ellipsoid. The hybrid-alignment structure is important to improve the viewing angle characteristics. The WV film is proved to have no optic axis.
