Studio parts and highlight programs of "FIFA2002 the World Cup" (Japan and South Korea co-sponsoring) were broadcast using a newly developed virtual studio system. We constructed the system which combined real-time 3DCG software "vizrt" (made by vizrt company) and high-definition 3DCG hardware "AV-VS3000" (made by Matsushita company) for the first time. The system mainly consists of a controller and 3DCG sets for a pedestal camera and a crane camera. We converted the camera data of AV-VS3000 format into the vizrt format and controlled vizrt through network. We report on this system and broadcast scenes in detail.
