Optical Coupling using Micro Lens Array

Abstract

We have proposed an use of micro lens array and 45-dgree micro mirror for coupling between an optical wiring and an optical device. In this paper, we explain the concept of optical surface mount technology with micro lens array and study coupling efficiency between a VCSEL and an optical fiber both theoretically and experimentally.
