Abstract
This paper describes the architecture and the evaluation of 3D modeling system, which has an intuitive user-interface by using gesture motion. This system has only fundamental functions necessary for 3D modeling. Among user-interface using human gesture, data gloves are the best ; however, haptic devices, which have force feedback, is very expensive so that a data glove that does not have force feedback is adapted for the system. As a communication mean in place of force feedback, visual feedback is used in this system. In order to place model objects at the exact position by hand, this system uses discrete movement method of model objects in the virtual space. It has been found that the visual feedback and the discrete movement method are useful for 3D modeling by using this system.
